Week Beginning - 21.09.2009 Monday 21st September: BIG NOISE is entered in the valuable 7 furlong handicap at Ascot on Saturday afternoon.
Wednesday 23rd September: More progress with the unbroken 2 year olds. The Royal Applause filly is now allowing us to apply the roller and pad in the stable. DRIVEMODE (the Domedriver gelding) now has the roller replaced by a saddle and is being long reined around the yard.
Thursday 24th September: A declaration for Saturday at Ascot. BIG NOISE is an intended runner in the valuable 7 furlong handicap. He will be ridden by Louis-Philippe Beuzelin (victorious partner at Leicester earlier on in the year) and, at the moment, the weather and the sun are smiling down on us to provide the horse with the sound surface he favours. The number 7 draw may not be to his advantage although plenty of the fancied runners have also been allocated low numbers . As for the breaking in - the filly accepts the rein behind her back legs and we'll be looking to turn and drive her soon.
Friday 25th September: Today is 'bouncing day' for the DRIVEMODE. The young, energetic and athletic member of the team bounces beside the horse to prepare him for the shock of being backed! He took it in good heart.
