Week Beginning - 08.12.2008

Tuesday 18th November: Last couple of days have been as routine as days in a racing yard can be. Yesterday saw the perimeter hedges tidied up. Today the farrier was herded into DEADLY SILENCE'S box to drive on a pair of hind shoes. In the 'Racing Post', Ray Cochrane confesses that FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND was one of his favourite racehorses. Now that's nice!

Tuesday 25th November: Tattersalls hosts its final 2 weeks of bloodstock sales. Yesterday saw the last yearlings enter the Newmarket sale ring for 2008. The Red House team walked away as underbidder on the only lot in the sale that interested them, a filly from DEADLY SILENCE'S immediate family. It's on to the real babies now as the foals hit the action, with mares and fillies winding matters up next week.

Thursday 27th November: This evening saw another of the BILLIE BLUE dynasty pass through the sale ring. The Footstepsinthesand colt foal out of Billie's daughter SCARLETT ROSE, a smart little chap with a great step on him, was knocked down at 50000 guineas.

Friday 5th December: It has been quiet here at Red House for a little while but we have got news for you today!! The trainer took himself up to Tattersalls yesterday and came back home with 2 rather nice unraced 2 year old fillies.
