RED SAIL, mum to be signs off with a well deserved victory
|
Monday 30th July: BIG NOISE holds an entry at Newmarket on Saturday. He'll be stepping up to 7F for the first time and we're praying for no rain! Tuesday 31st July: Sometimes things don't add up. Rough Rock won the two-year-old seller at Yarmouth yesterday. He cost 30,000gns as a yearling. Gay Kelleway bought the horse out of the race for £28,600. The race was worth about £1,500 to the winning owners after deductions and Yarmouth racecourse made £12,500 out of the sale. Hmmm. Wednesday 1st August: RED SAIL and SILENT APPLAUSE provide the support act for Jools Holland & Lulu on Friday evening at Newmarket. Plenty to SHOUT about! Thursday 2nd August: BIG NOISE is bound for the July Course on Saturday afternoon with jockey Richard Hughes aboard. Meanwhile we have a new kid on the block - Billie Blue's beautiful yearling filly by Compton Place has joined her big brothers and sister at Red House Stables. Friday 3rd August: SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND by the Spotter Saturday 4th August: Mother to be RED SAIL battled home under an expertly judged ride by 5lb claimer Luke Morris to WIN by a head at Newmarket's July Course. Definitely an evening for the more mature lady as Lulu strutted her stuff after racing! SILENT APPLAUSE travelled sweetly in the first time visor, but finished a close 6th courtesy of less inspired piloting! |

LATIMER HOUSE, survived 'Family Fun Day' at Wolverhampton
SILENT APPLAUSE, placed again at HQ |
Monday 13th August: LATIMER HOUSE had the 'Family Fun day' at Wolverhampton experience yesterday and survived. She showed speed from the gate, on this her second start, and was bang on the pace with a furlong out. Lesson learnt. DEMI SEC is a possible at Lingfield on Saturday with the Blues Brothers set to keep the crowd buzzing after racing. And it's another winner for the Billie Blue dynasty with grandson Distiller (Invincible Spirit ex Bobbydazzle) taking a 10f handicap at Redcar. Tuesday 14th August: Weather somewhat unpredictable so SILENT APPLAUSE has yet another entry - this time at Leicester on Monday, as we chase decent ground for him Wednesday 15th August: Decision taken and it's Newmarket for SILENT APPLAUSE on Friday. Thursday 16th August: ECSTASY!!! - DEMI SEC gets a run at lovely Lingfield on Saturday evening. AGONY - drawn number 1! Mind you, Frankie won for us from that draw many years ago on King Al to complete a hat-trick on Friday 13th July so you never know!! Complaints already about the "FOR KICKS" feature. Some Big Noise in Ramsey wanting to know why Everton weren't mentioned! Friday 17th August: SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND by the Spotter Saturday 18th August: Another great race from SILENT APPLAUSE. Took the lead climbing the Newmarket hill only to get mugged on the line, finishing a close third.
