SILENT APPLAUSE, slipped and slided his way to a 4th at Salisbury |
Monday 3rd September: FOR KICKS, an insight into the murky world of football
Tuesday 4th September: The team goes South to Salisbury on Thursday as SILENT APPLAUSE takes his place in the finale there. LATIMER HOUSE may take her chance at Folkestone with entries at the Kent track next Monday.
Wednesday 5th September: Two more possibles for LATIMER HOUSE on Tuesday, this time at Lingfield.
Friday 7th September: SILENT APPLAUSE missed 3rd place by a whisker at Salisbury yesterday. Jockey reported that the ground was overwatered but not quite as excessively as Warwick, who were forced to abandon after 2 races due to unsafe conditions!

LATIMER HOUSE, safe and sound after another racecourse outing
|
Monday 10th September: LATIMER HOUSE is Lingfield bound on Tuesday to compete in a 7 furlong fillies maiden on the polytrack. No need to fret about over watering!!
Wednesday 12th September: LATIMER HOUSE completed a satisfactory 3rd run at Lingfield yesterday and has returned safe and sound.
Thursday 13th September: Possible engagements for SILENT APPLAUSE and TORVER next week. The former over a mile at Yarmouth and the latter, two potentials, at Kempton and Yarmouth over 7f and 8f respectively.
Friday 14th September: SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND by the Spotter
Saturday 15th September: Yet more entries for both SILENT APPLAUSE and TORVER. TORVER has a back up entry at Wolverhampton over 7f, whilst her big brother may venture to Pontefract to compete in an 8f contest. |

OWNERS & TRAINERS left out of pocket again as Kempton decide to cut prizemoney
|
Monday 17th September: BIG NOISE back in the news with a possible entry at Newbury on Saturday.
Tuesday 18th September: It may be a trip on Pontefract for SILENT APPLAUSE on Thursday for a slice of the cake. An alternative entry has been made for Leicester on Monday should rain or over watering spoil the plans.
Wednesday 19th September: It's Wolverhampton on Friday for the return of TORVER . And on the day when the bookies threaten to slash levy contributions by 60% another letter in the Racing Post from Mrs Angry about prizemoney, entitled "that sinking feeling at Kempton Park". We don't think diminishing prizemoney and over watering are linked but you never know!
Thursday 20th September: BIG NOISE has been declared for Newbury on Saturday. With the weather still unsettled it's fingers crossed that the heavens don't open.
Friday 21st September: SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND by the Spotter

BIG NOISE (above) and TORVER (below) both on the track (along with SILENT APPLAUSE). BIG NOISE performs admirably once again.

Monday 24th September: A busy end to last week as horses headed North, South and West in the pursuit of prizes. SILENT APPLAUSE visited Pontefract and came home 7th in a 15 runner field. Younger sister TORVER made an encouraging return to competition at Wolverhampton, after 316 days off, with a strong run up the home straight to take 5th. BIG NOISE ran a superb heat at Newbury only to be narrowly denied a third victory in a row, beaten into 2nd in a thrilling contest. He ends the year with figures of 12112.
Tuesday 25th September: Autumn - leaves are falling, nights are drawing in and the first yearling is being broken in. The youngest Billie Blue, a smashing filly by Compton Place is set to work.

Wednesday 26th September: Autumn - turn out rugs on horses today! RED SAIL and EXCURSION, looking suitably matronly, were confirmed in foal yesterday by means of a veterinary hand in the appropriate place!
