Something for the Weekend |

With the weather playing havoc with the weekend’s fixtures the jumpers take centre stage this weekend. The mid-summer jumping highlight is the Totesport.com Summer Plate from Market Rasen. A competitive field lines up for this event and Mark Todhunter’s Crathorne could prove the best. A horse that seems to thrive during the summer seasons he comes here on a roll after taking events at Hexham and Uttoxeter. Moreover he is three from four since reverting to fences and should be more than competitive off a decent weight. Preceding this event is the 2 mile 1½ furlong Tote-exacta Juvenile hurdle which should fall the way of twice placed Callisto Moon. Ian William’s representative has been runner up in two fair events at Stratford and should make his experience count in a race mainly consisting of jumps debutants. The weather may be affecting the turf cards but Lingfield’s split meeting means that at least some of the racing can go ahead. In the 6.30 Fillies handicap over 10 Furlongs Jeremy Noseda and Eddie Ahern should collect with their Bath dead-heater Pivotal Answer. She should have more to offer now going handicapping for connections. Selections: 2.40 Market Rasen – 4 Callisto Moon 6.30 Lingfield (AW) – 4 Pivotal Answer
