It appears that MOLLY BROWN,  the dam of CARPENTRAS was named after a doughty American passenger on the Titanic who insisted on returning to the stricken vessel to rescue those in peril. These acts of courage earned her the title 'The Unsinkable Molly Brown'. CARPENTRAS'S second dam is SINKING, so the naming process becomes a little clearer.

Sunday 17th April: It is always good to see a significant update to a filly's pedigree. On Friday at Newbury, John Gosden's unraced 3 year filly Hezmah made a very taking winning debut. She is by Oasis Dream out of Bright Moll who is a half-sister to our very own CARPENTRAS.
